Hi i was wondering if there was anyway to set something to be the default. when i move files from my computer to an external hard drive, it copy's them instead of moving them.

if i download a movie or something...i keep all my movies on my external hard drive so if i was to drag it to my external hard drive then it would go there but still stay on my computer so now i have to copies of the file.

I want to make it so that when i move it. it moves it like "Cut" instead of "Copy"...exactly the same way it would as if the external hard drive was just another folder and you were moving it there.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

There is no way to do this on a Mac. Moving between volumes is always a copy.
