Seeking identity, instruction and manual on older iPod

Hi,

I've never used an iPod. My son gave me an iPod with the following information on the unit:
iPod model number a1137
EMC #2066
Serial #7m552nxgtst
I've been searching for a manual or other instruction, and found this: "iPod classic_FeaturesGuide.pdf"; and this: "iPod Nano". I don't know if either is a correct manual for my unit.
Would someone please enlighten me on how best to learn how to use this iPod.

Thanks a lot,

Rafael

Hello Rafael,

You can find iPod user manuals through this link.
http://support.apple.com/manuals/#ipod

And I believe your iPod model is a first generation iPod nano. You can also use this guide to help you narrow down what model it is.
[Identifying iPod models|http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353]

Also, here is another link to a different site where you can access your iPod's manual. You may actually have better luck here.
http://ipod.about.com/od/troubleshootingyouripod/tp/ipod-nano-manual.htm

If you have any more questions let us know! Hope this helps. 😉

This is it. "iPod nano_FeaturesGuide.pdf" Must be. They really make you dig for this stuff. I thought it was 2nd generation because everything looked the same except that the edges are rounded and mine are squared off. Until you get into it, they just call both iPod_nano. The page is <http://manuals.info.apple.com/en US/iPod_nano_FeaturesGuide.pdf>

I also got a lot of leads to details on the about.com.

Thanks for your help
