My Registered Products

Can any of you guys tell me how to check my registered Apple products on line? I have several products that I think I have registered, but I need to check that list anyway.
Any ideas? I tried looking for this information in the Apple web site, but I don't seem to find it.

iMac, Mac OS X (10.5.5), also have a pc at work

I'd like to see that list too.
I had to call support today and I recall the tech. commenting on how many products I owned.
I log in to Applecare and only see that which is still under warranty.
Nothing hinky... I just want to see what they see.

I recall when my iPod got swiped... Apple wouldn't tell me what the serial number was for a Police report.

Apple figures that you can keep track of what you own better than they can. If that isn't true, you may want to work on your recordkeeping practices. At the very least, keep a written list of all your serial numbers and purchase dates. Then you won't have to depend on anyone else to know your business.

This won't help any of you now, but here is an idea for the future:

What I started doing is listing the specific model and serial # of any major purchase in the memo line in Quicken. If you use Quicken or another financial product it should be easy to do. You will also then have the original purchase date for warranty purchases as well.

I think some of you may be missing a use case for this. What if a person wants to just double check and see if he registered a product or not ( on products for which Apple care was not purchased ) ? For example, I am a fanatic about registering every product I purchase ( whether from Apple or not ). Recently, while checking through my old mail, I noticed I had confirmations from Apple on the registration of my iMac and MBP but not my iPod Touch. It would be nice to be able to check to see if I registered that device and just lost the e-mail or if I forgot to register the product.

In any event, I have an appt to pick up a replacement Shuffle at the Apple store tomorrow and I'll ask them if there is a way to check up on this.

Going to the warranty status link would serve this purpose. Apple doesn't really care who the product is "registered to" except in the case of AppleCare. I can't tell you how many times I've gone in for service on a registered Apple product only to have the Mac Genius tell me that the product isn't registered. Heck I even have the email confirmation that would read "Thank you for registering your..."

You can always force a registration via this URL - https://register.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/GlobaliReg.woa

But I agree with what other users have stated, you should be able to produce the product and serial number in question when you're wondering its status.

No, going to the warranty status link only shows the warranty status of the product whose serial # you have entered. It does not tell you whether or not that product is registered to you. And, actually, the one time Apple does not care who the product is registered to is when the product is under Applecare. This is because Applecare is on the product not the person ... it is fully transferable and, as a matter of fact, when you purchase Applecare on an item at time of sale, it does not even show up under "your" Applecare items when you perform a search using your Apple ID ( especially when you receive an item purchased with Applecare as a gift ). Plus, the mere fact that a Mac Genius even mentioned that one of your products was not registered should tell you that process does mean something.

I realize the point that you should have to produce the product and serial number in question when wondering its status. But what I am after is a way of checking to make sure that I have registered all my Apple products .... not because it has anything to do with warranty coverage but because I would like Apple to be able to contact me about any recalls or special service offers concerning the products I own. Case in point, the current Headphone with Remote replacement program Apple recently instituted concerning defective headphones which came with certain iPod Shuffles. Mine was registered and because of that I received an e-mail informing me of the issue. I then made an appointment with the Apple Genius and now, tomorrow, after only two business days, I am picking up a brand new iPod Shuffle and headphones. That is an example of why I want to be able to make sure each of my products is registered.

We know that we need to ask for that feature from Apple, eww, and believe me I for one have, but unfortunately the posts from you and some of the others have put us in the position of having to defend why we need such a feature/service. Like others have stated, almost every other hardware manufacturer has a place on their website to find such information ... why is it so unreasonable for Apple to do the same?

BTW, for those interested, when I was recently at the Apple Store picking up my replacement Shuffle, I discussed this with the Genius Bar. When I pointed out the situation, half were surprised that there was no link on the public site ( since they, at the genius bar do have access to that information ). The other half had never realized that the public might have a use for that feature but agreed that it should be there and were going to bring it up at their next meeting.
