I got a new computer..how do I get my library to new iTunes

I got a new computer for Christmas. I clicked on home sharing so I can see my library from the old computer and after we finish getting info from that computer to this one, it will be garbage. So I just imported a CD into my iTunes library on this new computer, so that is really my first content in this library. When I click on sync to my iPhone, it says it will have to erase all of the songs from my first computer. HELP! I don't want to lose all of that music, especially since I paid for it all. Am I missing something? I can't be ther first person to get a new computer.

Gateway PC, Windows 7

Okay so I'm sort of related to this topic. My desktop dies before xmas and just got a new hp. I install itunes, set up my account back on it, and authorize my new computer. So I hook up my old hard drive and dump the old files into the new folder and everything seems fine but last night I open itunes to update my ipod touch and iphone and there's doubles of all the songs and movies and the is a exclamation point to some of them. So what do i do now? How do I delete the ones giving me trouble. Or is there a way to delete everything and start over? Thanks for the help in advance and happy new year all.

Got a question here......

I moved my I tunes to my new laptop by copying the itunes folder from the old computer to a flash drive. When I look at my library it shows 1092 songs @ 5.90 Gigs of space. Now I am looking to copy my itunes to a new laptop that will replace the desktop that I originally copied from. I go into my music file on Windows 7 & can see the itunes folder.......BUT the properties tab indicates that the entire file, including subfolders is only 2.18 GB???????? Am I missing something here?????

Well, I followed the instructions on that long article and I am now thoroughly confused. First it tells me to organize the library one way by upgrade to iTunes media organization, then when I go down to where it tells me to move the library it tells me to organize:consolidate. I don't know what to do. I am going from windows xp to windows 7, can someone direct me to a step by step youtube video or an article that is more clear on exactly what to do? I don't understand computers well, so I don't want all of the explanation, just how to step by step without fluff.
