Convert iPhoto Library for use on Linux/Windows

I would like to know if it's possible to convert the iPhoto Library, keep as much of the nice organization (e.g. original/edited, events, albums) as possible, and open in either Windows or Linux (e.g. Ubuntu).

Does anyone know of any methods?

How would you suggest I go about this?
