SD card in the cd slot

Sorry but this has nothig to do with stupidity: Apple's designers/techicians should have thought of a better place for the sd card slot, not right up next to the cd slot: I havent checked but I bet they changed it by now! it's an honest mistake! I did the same thing this morning, and my iq is 126, (nothing to brag about about but I dont believe I'm stupid!) anyways... I'll try the paper clip, dont have any in the house right so I cant try it, let u know in the pm.

I was trying to use a hair pin to pull it out but only pushed it further to the point where I thought it completely fell in. I found the video and decided to try it and it worked. Thank the freaking lord. PHEW!

I have had the same happen to me, I used double sided tape on credit card and was able to retrieve. Make sure you keep hold of credit card!!!

Thank you very much for this trail! I also stupidly put my SD card in the DVD slot, and thought that I had done some serious damage. The paper clip bent into an L shape really did work perfectly! I am very grateful for the advice.

I am glad that I checked this site out. I did the same thing with an SD card, and tried to slip a CD in to see what would happen. The CD wouldn't go in all the way. But cathy1956 post (1/20/2010) made sense to me after trying to use an "L" shaped paperclip. At first it didn't help, until I tipped the computer on its side. I Inserted the cardboard and the darn SD card popped right out. Kudos to cathy1956's husband!

The paper clip didn't work for me so I tried a piece of sturdy cardboard and cut a 1 inch loop into the end based on your suggestion. It worked much better. I also feel less stupid seeing how many others did this.

This really helped me, took about 2 minutes of gentle fishing with the paper clip L hook, but I finally got it out, and CD player still in tact!

IT worked for me too! I had visions of expensive replacement SuperDrives having hauled it over to my nearest Apple Store, and the cost of service but no, I came across this forum and after a few attempts it worked. This is an easy fix that really does work so a big thank you to whomever thought of it in the first place.

This is an Excellent method -- Nylon tie is soft enough not to do damage, non-conductive, and worked after about the 5th attempt. Thanks for the excellent thinking.

Thankyou so much. It worked with the paper clip. I turned the computer on its side first to make it easier and after a few attempts BINGO !!!!!!!!!!I I unplugged everything first --- just in case lol

I gently shake the macbook, let the sd card slide closer to the exit.... then use the paper clip to fish it out! phew~~~

thanks everyone, Paperclip worked for me, tok a while as the SD card was right in there, but got it in the end. Fark, that freaked me a bit, ha
