FTP publishes empty files/blank site

I am successfully publishing my site both to a local folder and to the MobileMe server:

http://web.me.com/scott.romans/SLE/Home.html

However, when I try to publish via FTP to an external server (which is the ultimate home for this site), iWeb sends empty folders (0B) and creates a blank website. (I can see this with Cyberduck.) When I use Cyberduck for the transfer, the same thing happens. When I use Transmit, the files on the external server arrive with the same size as they have in my local folder, but the website is still blank.

I was able to develop my website on my external server for weeks with no problems. Using Cyberduck, I would delete the old folder on the server and upload the new. Last night my navigation bar disappeared, and then I get this problem where I end up with a blank site. Ironically, there is one folder on the server that pre-dates the problems I am having, and when I upload to this folder, the site can be seen online, but the nav bar and several picture frames are missing. Here's the defective copy:

I've reset Safari and also checked in Firefox, and I get the same problems.

Any ideas how to fix this? My parish will be grateful!

Your files seem to be on the server. If you enter the URL....

feed://stlukesevanston.org/SLE/feed.xml

.... you'll get a page of links to each of the pages of your site.

Open the SLE folder on the server side of your FTP application, or via your server control panel, and make sure that the feed.xml file is present along with all the other files and folders.

This is something you should contact your hosting service's tech support about. If you can successfully publish to a folder and MobileMe then your files must be OK.
You appear to be uploading to a folder - SLE. Have you tried uploading all your files to the root folder?
Also make sure that you have a Linux account and not a WIndows one.
I notice that you say you delete the old folder and upload a new one. Why? Its only necessary to upload the files.
If you upload the contents of the SLE folder, and not the folder itself, to the root folder on your server, you will get rid of the SLE in the URL.
Note that your root folder will contain some files and folders supplied by your hosting company like cgi-bin, images, login, webalizer etc. These should not be deleted.
Your FTP application should be set so that it replaces files that already exist with ones of the same name that are being uploaded. This means that only changed files will be replaced and stuff like sitemap.xml, google.html etc will not be deleted in the way that MobileMe does in its exasperating and counter productive methodology!

I used iWeb to make a small site test, using White Welcome template page, only!
Made Publish Entire Site to Local Folder, works fine.
Made Publish Entire Site o FTP server and everything went wrong:
-first, 500 Internal Server error, reporting 3 possibilities: upload in ASCII mode (iWeb does not allow changing this), changing folder and file permissions to 755 and, script errors.

I have tried everything:
-use FireFTP to upload site
-configuration in ASCII mode
-change permissions to 775

Again, when writing the url, the site is blank, I just cannot see anything.

This was made with the most basic example from iWeb.

Please help
