Sad-faced iPod icon with exclamation point and support address

I can't get my 30G iPod Classic to turn on. Even if it's plugged in to the computer, it says it has a low battery and to please wait. If I reset it by holding down the center and menu buttons, it goes to a dark screen with an Apple logo before the light comes on and it shows me a little iPod icon with a sad face and Xs for eyes with an exclamation point in a triangle at the bottom left of the icon. Underneath, it says www.apple.com/support/ipod. So I came here. And have yet to find a solution...I've reset it countless times, updated iTunes, shut down and restarted my computer with it plugged in and still...no change. It just randomly stopped playing earlier today in the middle of a song while plugged into my car charger. Can anyone help me? I've had it for three years now and don't know what I'd do without it...
