how do i upgrade my itunes?

well i want to buy an episode of a tv show but itunes said i needed to upgrade. when i click on the thingy it says to it takes me to this page where it wants me to download itunes again. is this right? im so confused. any help would be dashing. thanks and God bless

Yes. All currently available versions of iTunes are full installers.

so i just download the new itunes right? i've read some of the other post with ppl having problems. if i download the new one and get rid of the old one i wont loose my songs will i?

Yes.
