My ITunes Library is gone.

Hi

My laptop crashed a few days ago due to a corrupt hard disk. It was running Windows XP Media Centre. Thanks to Service Pack 3, my laptop is once again in good health with little damage to my hard disk.

However, in the process everything was completely wiped from my computer. I was actually unaware that I was able to backup all my stuff from ITunes so have no backup. I do not own an IPod either. I simply use ITunes as I prefer to use legal downloads and it was the best service I had found.

As I have no copy of all the items I had purchased on Itunes on my computer or on DVD, is there anyway that my library can be restored at all?

Dell PP20L, Windows XP

Itunes prompts you from time to time to backup your music. You can type back up into the help feature in itunes and it will tell you how.

Without a backup, the music is most likely gone.

You can see if a data retrieval company can get the data from the hard drive. It would likely be expensive.
