Downloading to itunes from archive.org

How do I download music from archive.org to my itunes? There are several different formats to choose from? Which one should I use? How do I get it from my desktop in to itunes? Thanks.

Archive gives you a choice of FLAC, OGG Vorbis, or MP3. Get the MP3 since it is the only one compatible with iTunes (and almost all other players too).

At Archive, the underlined file size is the download link. The easiest way is to right-click it, choose Save Link As, and let it download to your computer.

Once it is on your machine, drag in into the open iTunes window, which will cause iTunes to add it to your library.

There is tons of good stuff there. Let us know how it goes.

"There are several different formats to choose from?" If mp3 is available, that will work fine in iTunes/on your iPod.

"How do I get it from my desktop in to iTunes?" If you drag the folder from your Desktop to the iTunes window, it should import the music into your library.

Also, you can choose to convert your songs to the AAC format in iTunes. This is the default format for songs in iTunes. Again, this is only optional.

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the response! I have downloaded some of the VBR Zip files. When I open the zip file it show the files as MP3. When I try to drag and drop I get the old circle with line through it in itunes and I can't drop them.

Does that AAC format option have anything to do with the MP3 files not importing?

I am having succes downloading shn files, converting them to wav and then dragging and dropping the wav files into itunes. Thanks, Dave
