Itunes Gift Card says to have "already been redeemed" but I didnt redeem it

My mom bought me an itunes 25$ gift card for christmas and when I tried to redeem it i scratched off the gray block and then entered the code and then it said "The Gift Certificate or Prepaid Card you entered has already been redeemed." Please somebody I would like some suggestions thank you!
