glitch in video new iPhone

I took a short video, emailed it to my Mac and it's perfect! I emailed it from iphone to a friend with a PC and he said thanks for the sideways video. He returned it via email to me and sure enough it was sideways. So I then emailed the same video FROM iphone to both my PC and my Mac. When viewed on my Mac, it is perfect; when viewed on my PC, it is sideways.

Seems like a glitch to me. I can email videos all day long from my camera and youtube and they're all exactly the way they are supposed to be.

So I suppose this will be an update on a NEW iphone! LOL We'll have to purchase new iphones again to get a right-side up video! LOL

Anyone have this "phenomenon" happen on their iphone video? Is there some setting I'm missing? But if I email the SAME video, SAME time, to Mac and PC, in same email, they are both a different appearance.

Tell your friends to all get Macs. 😉

Actually, it's not a glitch per se, but merely differences in the way the players being used respect the rotation settings in the video file.

You can submit feedback to Apple: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html.

Not sure if that will help, though, as it may be the change needs to be made to Windows Media Player.

GOOD IDEA! Easy fix! LOL

Except iPhone creates a .mov file and .mov files play in Quicktime on PC too and it was also played on VLC media player. So even though played in the same player that Mac uses, it's still sideways on a PC. Mac hates PC -- revenge! LOL So maybe it's the PC v Mac thing, huh? Ongoing battle of the Macfields and McPCoy.
