Component AV cables not working???

I have a Iphone 3gs with the latest firmware. I just bought the Component AV cable for hooking it up to a HDTV, a LG. Well I hook the thing up. I go to itunes on my iphone and I play a movie. Well I hear audio but no video. I checked the cables and they are in the right plugins... I also checked the ipod video settings and they are set to NTSC.

MacPro & MacbookPro, Mac OS X (10.6.1), 2.8 (8X)...10GB Ram...640GB HDD/VISTA 32...10GB Ram...320 GB HDD/640HDD for Audi

Do you have the right cable? The "older" cable plugged into the audio jack, but this only works with older model iPods. You should have the cable that plugs into the dock connector. It's unfortunately a more expensive cable.

Is there video playing on the iPhone screen?

There could also be an issue with how the TV is set up. I've connected an iPod/iPhone up to a HDTV before and sometimes you need to make some setting changes on the TV to make it work properly. The iPhone isn't going to put out HDTV quality video, however the results are very acceptable once you get everything set up properly.

These are the cables I have...

And I have noticed something new. Now when I plug in my iphone 3GS to the cable it says
"This accessory is not made to work with iphone. Would you like to turn on Airplane mode to reduce Audio interference? Yes, No."
Ummm, it says right there on the sight that it IS compatible with a 3GS. ***?

Well, it looks like if I want video out of a 3GS you not only have to have the component AV cables for 49.95 but you also have to have the Universal dock for another 50 bucks. Comeon Apple. 100 bucks to port video from a Iphone to a tv? It would be one thing if it would work on a MacbookPro for the same thing but I doubt it. Prolly have to cough up another 200 bucks to do that...
Shame on you Apple...

Don't know where you got that info, but it's not true. I've got a 3gs & I output movies fine to my TV & I don't own a universal dock. You use the dock if you're going to keep your cables connected to the TV. It also includes an Apple Remote so you can pause and adjust the volume from a distance.
