Inserting .pdf onto page

I am trying to put a .pdf onto a page on my website. It is a two-page .pdf, but when I drop it onto the page in iWeb, only one page shows up. My intent is that the page not be visible, but download-able, from a link on another page. Here is the site/page:

The link is near the top: "To print our brochure, click here: Northern Lakes brochure"

What is the best method to put a two-page .pdf onto an iWeb page? I did it once, but cannot remember how it was accomplished.

Create a hyperlink and choose "Select file".

Choose the pdf. iWeb will upload it to the server upon publishing.

When your visitor clicks the link, the pdf either downloads or it will be displayed in the browserwindow.

Let your visitor decide what to do.

When I do as you suggest, the "Northern Lakes" bit turns into the name of the file. I don't want it to do that. I turned the entire phrase into a link to the file, and that worked. Thank you for your help.

This could be text, shapes, or images just select file in the link inspector.

Select the portion of text you want to become the link to the pdf. Then in the link inspector choose link to file. Right know it appears that that particular bit of text is an image.

Your click on the star is working. I would also suggest in the link properties to open link in new window.

I changed the text, which I wanted to be the link, into a star. Now it does what I want it to do. But how can I make a piece of text become a link to a .pdf file, without the text changing into the file name?

Thanks, all for the help. When I originally made the site, I did not have my head wrapped around the external file link thing at all, and thought I needed to set it up as an "invisible" page, with a link to "one of my pages". In doing this update, I forgot how I did it. Coffee is good.

That's because you use a style, such as shadows, that turns text into an image.

Remove the style.

I can get it to work now as I want, except for the "open in new window" bit. I see that option in the Inspector when I use an external page, but not for a file link.

I forgot that iWeb uses the name of the attached file for the link. One work around would be to upload "0910Brochure.pdf" and then link the the text you would like to see to "http://www.myfancywebsite.com/0910Brochure.pdf"
