New computer, do I have to buy all my apps again??

Just got a new computer since my old one's harddrive failed and it was time to upgrade anyway. Conveniently happened at the same time that my iphone died & had to be replaced. I am starting out new & need to recover everything.

- Is there any way to recover my old podcast subscriptions or do I have to resubscribe to each one from memory?

- Is there any way to view the apps I had purchased?

- If I search for an app I know I purchased, it says Buy now. I already bought it. Do I have to buy it again? I have receipts from my purchases in my email, if that helps.

You should be maintaining a backup copy of everything.

Just use your backup to put everything on the new computer.

Unlike music/movies,et you can re-download apps:

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

You can look at your purchase history to see what you have purchased.

I'm not entirely sure on this one, but I have a feeling you will have to resubscribe to these. On another note, don't forget to reauthorize your computer by choosing "Authorize" from the Store drop down menu.

Yes, you can redownload all your apps for free. Just follow the directions provided in this Apple support document.

Yep, I had a backup but it needed improvement. I didn't backup itunes stuff, only my critical files like photos & documents. Didn't even think about itunes at the time. But it's in the backup plan for the next go. =)

I see my purchases in my purchase history now. I can't ctrl-c or copy them to a clipboard to find them easily and if I search for one I have to pull up the purchase history again which means entering my password about a hundred times. Is there any way to make this a little more efficient? Any way to copy my history to a clipboard or anything like that?

No, It's a royal pain. The new itunes 9 store doesn't let you cut/paste anything.

If you have the email receipts, you could at least cut/paste from there, if you haven't already deleted them.
