iPhone charging issue

My iPhone is having issues when I plug it in to charge. Sometimes it goes from charging to not charging and back and forth and won't charge the phone. When I plug it into the wall adapter it displays the charging screen and then immediately displays my wallpaper and goes back and forth as if I'm plugging and unplugging the cable. I've tried multiple wall chargers and cable combinations and still have this problem. It also happens sometimes when I plug it into my computer.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Another issue is that my phone won't charge when I'm talking on it. For example, I'll start with the battery in green and then I'll get a 20% battery life warning and sometimes I'll get the 10% battery life warning and then my phone will just die (spinning icon followed by shut down). I then have to wait for it to restart and I get a few minutes of talk time (enough to tell the other person my phone died) before it shuts down again.
So my question is this: is the iPhone supposed to be able to charge while talking or is there something wrong with mine? I've gotten it replaced at the apple store before (my silence slider fell off) and both new and old phones wouldn't charge while talking.

Thanks for the help

You can use the iPhone while charging including placing and receiving calls while charging, but the iPhone includes protection for the battery while charging. If the iPhone's internal temperature exceeds a designated temperature while charging, charging will stop until the internal temperature is reduced.

Charging the iPhone alone increases the iPhone's internal temperature which can be increased even more during use while charging.

Have you tried multiple outlets? A worn outlet can cause a problem like this. When it stops charging how hot is the phone? If it is not hot to the point of being uncomfortable to touch then it is not the phone's protection circuit. In that case it is most likely a hardware problem in the phone; contact Apple for an exchange.

I am having the same problem of charging and then not charging. Sometime it switches back and forth. It does this with my outlet charger, car charger, and usb cord to my computer. Furthermore, I've recently been getting an error message (sometimes) when I plug into my car charger that this is not an Apple device. Turn on airplane mode to avoid interference.

Anyone figured out this problem out there?

Thanks

This has happened on multiple outlets. I've tried both at home and at work. I've also used a mophie juice pack air in the past and it sometimes did the same thing (although the problem was from before I used the mophie). This happens when I first plug in my phone so its not warm. The phone has usually been sitting on my desk for a few hours unused before I realize I need to charge it so its not warm at all. If it's a hardware thing, how likely is it that 2 phones in a row did this? b/c the phone I had before I got it replaced would sometimes do this too.
