What is that ICON (half moon icon) that shows up under some of the movies?

Question

What is that ICON (half moon icon) that shows up under some of the movies?

Some of my movies have small moon icons under the file description. Most are 1/2 shaded.
What do these represent?

If you are refering to what I think you are, it shows if you have watched it or not.

Full "Moon" = Unwatched
Half "Moon" = Partly Watched
New "Moon" = Watched

Dear Daniel,
Thanks for the quick response. I tried "watching" a few to see if the icon either appeared or changed to the full moon. That did not happen. However, on one that I watched, after watching it, a small speaker icon appeared. Thats the first I have seen that.
All of these Icons show up on the Library>Movies section... they don't show up on the Device>Apple TV> movies.
Does this help explain it? If not, any suggestions where I can look to determine whats going on?

Daniel's explanation is correct. You'll get the "half moon" symbol until you watch the complete movie all the way to the end. If you don't care to view the credits, you can control+click on a movie and mark it as watched or unwatched in the contextual menu.

I appreciate your explanation. Do you know why a "speaker" icon showed up? I am trying to find an explanation through the help menu but can't find it.

The speaker icon appears left of the name to indicate the now playing song or video.

If you open the iTunes help file and type "symbols" in the search box at the top right, you'll get some useful info.
