iPod Universal Dock remote not working!

Hi I have the 160gig iPod and have used the universal dock and remote for the last year! I recently synced my iPod and now the remote will only turn the volume up and down not skip tracks or anything else.

Have I accidentally done something that has stopped it working? The remote controls my Apple TV fine so its not that!

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
