sync LG chocolate VX8575

I just purchased the LG chocolate 8575 phone from verizon wireless and I would like to sync it with my mac. My mac doesn't recognize the phone when I plug in the USB (nothing in the finder). Are there drivers available for this phone? If possible I would like to sync contacts, calendars and put some music on the phone. I do not have a micro SD card but the phone should have 1GB of internal memory.

Launch System Profiler. Left side column>USB. Does it show up? Sometimes you may need to shut the phone down and restart it. However, contact your manufacturer and/or service provider for help. You can also google, "LG chocolate 8575 and Macintosh" and come up with info. Usually the best time to get info like that is before you purchase.

USB sync doesn't sound promising. I didn't get the bluetooth card when I purchased this computer. Who knew in 2005 I would have this problem. Ok probably several people would have known that. I have ordered a bluetooth card to see if that will help it was pretty cheap at DV Warehouse. Hopefully I can get some data to transfer.
Another thought, maybe the Mac will recognize the phone with the SD card.

Thanks for the help everyone.

For those of you who have the same problem I ran across a program called vxSync built by Nathan Hjelm. It allows the user to sync the address book and calender of many of the new LG phones with a Mac. The program worked great thank you Nathan.

Here is where to download the program

By the way my iMac did not come with bluetooth and it is apparently impossible to add the bluetooth module to it now. I have the right part and the midplane has a slot for it but there is no antenna to plug into the module. So I will be sending this part back and get a USB plugin bluetooth.

If it is a G5 iMac as shows in your profile then there should be an antenna cable, see here or here for what I assume is your iMac. All iMac G5s either had BT built in or it was an optional build.

I figured out how to move pictures, ringtones and MP3s from my iBook G4 to my Chocolate Touch.
- Under Phone Settings/USB Auto Detection, choose Modem Mode or Ask On Plug
- Next, under Phone Tools, click on USB Mass Storage. This will connect you to your Mac and allow you to see the phone's internal memory folders into which you can paste files (jpg, MP3).
When done pasting files, click EXIT on your phone to disconnect the USB Mass Storage.

I'm not sure how to view what is on my MicroSD card (using the phone as a card reader). Any suggestions for that?
