No updates currently available....BUT there are

Background info: Got my MBP a week ago. Switched iTunes over to it instead of my old pc. No problems switching. Everything seemed to work fine..... I have an iPhone also.

Now, the app store shows there are updates available. I know for a fact there are updates available for my iPhone apps. When I click on the app updates in my library it then says: "Kevin ( ****@yahoo.com) has no updates currently available. To check for updates for another account, sign into that account."

I haven't tried to purchase anything from the store since the transfer to the MBP..

Any Ideas??

Thanks
Kevin

Same issue, not even switching to new computer. I had 3 updates that I never updated, and now when I check for updates (of iPhone apps) it says none available. Has said this for 2-3 days now. I know for a fact there at at least 3 newer. I tried logging out of the store (Store menu) and logging back in, with same results.

I have the same problem ... 10 updates available according to iTunes, but none according to the store. I too have recently renewed MobileMe, though that was about a month ago and this problem is just a few days old. Have just updated to ITunes 9.1.1 but this seems to make no difference at all.
Logged in and out. Next I'll try rebooting the Mac ...

I found an solution - which worked for me, anyway.
Running iTunes, logout. The badge showing the number of updates available disappears.
Then go to Apps (it lists all your apps) and click the link at the bottom right to check for updates.
You will then be asked for your apple ID and password.
Entering them finds the available updates and allows you to download them.

Hey I worked it out, if you have shared an app from say your wife or something by using Home Sharing, you will need to sign out as you and sign in as her on your mac/pc and then press check for updates.

Yep, this is where my extra updates were hiding. I too listed 4 available in the badge but none when I went to update (though 4 still remained in the badge). I logged out then in as my son and sure enough, there were 4 apps there that were in need of updating. Not sure how/why my son got these into my iTunes, and it seems like Apple ought to be friendlier when dealing with these apps hiding behind the current user.

I've had the same problem. I recently moved back to Australia after living in the UK. When I moved to Australia I updated my iTunes account with new the details including a new credit card. That meant the purchases I made with my old UK credit wont allow me to update.

In order to be able to see the apps that are available for update I've had to revert to my old UK details including the credit card.

Is it possible to have 2 accounts? This seems totally stupid in the grand scheme of things.

Same thing with me, changing countries after I moved from Australia to the US has broken iTunes app updates. In the Apps section it says there are updates available, then go to view updates and given the same line "<user> has no updates currently available" etc. I haven't tried reverting to Aus & old credit card to test if that 'fixes' it, as this is not a reasonable solution for me. It also happens for Apps I have purchased after I changed to the US store (I'm sure I downloaded iBooks after changing). I had thought maybe it was a timezone issue... iTunes first checks AU store, then when it goes to download Apps it's a day earlier in the US and they're not posted yet (but that doesn't really make sense as there's no reason to artificially delay update availability).

My workaround: If I look for updates directly on my iPhone it works fine. Not really an acceptable workaround as I prefer to manage all my apps through iTunes... and it should just work properly anyway.

Please Apple look into a fix for this frustrating iTunes bug!
