how do i get desktop icons out of the hide mode???

how do i get desktop icons out of the hide mode???

my baby got on my computer and started pressing the keyboard and now my icons are hidden. i have only had my computer for 6 days so i have no idea how to get the icons from the hide mode. when i put the cursor down to the bottom of the desktop the icons pop back up but as soon as i move the cursor up they disappear. please tell me how to get them back to how they were thanks!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions!

Somehow your baby has activated the hidden Dock preference. Go to the Apple menu and choose System Preferences... In Sys Prefs choose the Dock pane. There is a check box to automatically hide or show the Dock.

More likely she stumbled upon a key combination that activated it. If you follow the right click commands Bob offers you will find that if you check the Sys Prefs pane that box has been checked or unchecked.

Welcome to Discussions, Control click/Right Click the Dock over by the @ icon or Trash and you will see Turn Hiding Off/On. Bob

thanks for answering my question! i've got the icons back. apparently she did check the box to hide the icons! lol!
