Canon MP560 will not print .pdf, otherwise works fine

Recently replaced faithful old Canon S900 with an MP560. Works fine except now it will not print PDF files. I can print PDF's from other utilities, but not from Adobe Reader 9.2.0. Job shows as STOPPED on the queue. If resumed, a message flashes and disappears and the job goes stopped again. The furtive message is something about a "client" but is not there long enough to get a good reading.
I could not find any printer or reader preferences that seem to relate to problem.
Any help or insights appreciated.

Hello Ray.

As a test, I would try printing again from Acrobat but with the print dialog displayed, click the Advanced button and in this pane select 'Print as Image' (located next to the DPI drop menu). As it suggests, it will convert the document into a image (raster) before it enters the print system, which is probably where the problem is occurring when the file is converted to a raster before being sent to the printer.

Let me know if this works.
