I personally like the slot-loading drive--I don't have to worry about it popping open if I'm carrying my laptop around.

However, I do agree that a drive that can properly accept mini-discs would be quite beneficial--especially since other devices with slot-loading drives can accept them (i.e.: the Wii), which causes folks to assume all slot-loading drives can accept those same discs.

Having used PC laptops from 1992 until 2006 I can't say I ever had a drive pop open. However, in the 3 years I have been running Macs I have lost count of the number of times I have had to jump through hoops with Mac OS to get a disk eject.

And I've had the opposite experience. If I'm using a PC laptop, I find myself constantly popping the drive open when I move the computer, and this drives me crazy! However, I've yet to have my MacBook or iBook give me serious troubles ejecting any discs.
