My videos suddenly stopped playing?!?

My site was working fine. Then suddenly about half the movies on my site stopped playing. They were working fine.

I talked to godaddy who hosts the site (which I built with iweb)..they said the videos need to be optimized. but they were.

They are quicktimes optimized for the web. I am using the iphone .mv4 .

I deleted all teh files on godaddy and republished the entire site...adn that didn't help.

So I start recompressing ALL the broken videos. The first one works. Fine. But hte second one has been recompressed five times...and still doesn't work. I use quicktime, final cut pro, ipod, iphone compression, .mov, mv4...try different setting... nothing!

PLEASE HELP!

mac book pro, Mac OS X (10.5.8), Quicktime 7.6.4

My url is ginalevy.com

I redid the home page video using quicktime...now that is working fine... but there is a page where you can see it bigger...IT IS THE EXACT SAME VIDEO!! but it won't play!?!

And then on teh commercials page... last week all of them played... now half of them won't play. I can't figure out what is wrong!!

Is it iweb? quicktime? godaddy? compressor?

THANKS MUCH!

I just checked the site and the videos seemed to be working...
Some of the pages are slow to load because it is trying to run
multiple videos at one time (not really good design for anyone
with a slow connection, which is what I am currently using).

Can you be a bit more specific about what is not working.
(I checked using Firefox and Safari on a PC. I will check later
at home on my Mac.)

For example. There is a video on the homepage that now plays fine. If you click full screen below that video you will go to a separate page. Here is the EXACT SAME VIDEO. I put the exact same video in iweb on this page...but it won't play on this page. NOw what could that be?

If you go to Commercials page...and hit Xavier and Michael picture.. you got to a page with aht video.. i put two different versions of the video here. Neither will play. What could this be?

THANKS MUCH!

FWIW, the video on this page has the controller in the Footer of the page. You cannot click the start/stop button. Increase the height of the body.

http://ginalevy.com/ginalevy/DocCommercialReel.html

And your movie is larger then displayed : 852x480 vs 462x260. Why? Make it smaller in width and height. It will be smaller in filesize too and loads faster.

You're not the first Movie professional who has no clue about how to publish movies on a webpage. Don't they teach that at school?

Perhaps I should give you professionals a masterclass. I'll bring [my own camera|http://www.theflip.com>.

Personally I would be more concerned about the content of my website than about the URL.

See how I do it: http://www.wyodor.net/_Movies/rolando/

Your movies is 480x360 but the displayed size is 320x240.

Again. WHY?

Just display the original size or create a movie of the intended displayed size.

There seems to be an influx of professional moviemakers lately who have difficulty grasping modern technology.

And there's still room in my masterclass.

BTW, You still use iWeb 1.1.2. Isn't it time to upgrade?

And post in the right forum. Now I solve a problem that might not be iWeb 09 related.
