How much weight can sit on my laptop when its closed?
My cat sits on it, and I shoo her off when I catch her. It isn't often, but I'm worried she's too heavy for it. She's 12 pounds! Does this hurt my macbook?

I have set textbooks and similar items on both of my Apple notebooks (an iBook and a MacBook) with no ill effects. I don't make a regular habit of this, but it has happened!
I wouldn't worry overly much about it, unless your cat jumps onto the computer. You would probably be best off moving it somewhere that the cat can't reach--a drawer or something similar.
