I just connected my 64GB ipod touch to my macbook and it says 'charging is not supported with this accessory'

but it was working up until tonight.

it still syncs with my itunes and everything

has anyone else had this problem?

    Pure speculation...

    1. Cable went flaky. Try another cable.
    2. USB port on Macbook can't supply enough power. Try another port.
    3. Dirt inside the connector on iPod or cable.

Otherwise, take it all into an Apple Store if you can.

Mac usb ports can get flakey. Just restart your Macbook and all should be fixed.

You can also try to plug the AC adapter into your MacBook just in case the MacBook battery is low.

I have an aftermarket module in my car that connects my 64GB touch to my factory head unit. Prior to updating the touch to v3.1.3 of the software, it would charge the device without issue. After updating, I get the "charging not supported with this accessory" message every time I hook it up.

So if your 64GB touch is updated to v3.1.3, then perhaps this is a new issue with that version of the software and we're both affected by it.
