Green check mark in canvas

Hello,
I'm editing some footage I shot and there's a green circle with a black check mark and an upward
arrow in the middle of it. Also, there are green zebra lines on the overexposed areas in my frame. Is there a way to correct overexposure? And how do I get rid of the green circle symbol.

Thanks.

I keep getting a warning about dropped frames while editing. What does that mean?
The warning reads:
Warning - Dropped Frames
One or more frames were dropped during playback.

If this occurs frequently, try:
-Turning off "unlimited RT".
-Lowering your compression data rate.
-Closing open sequences.
-lowering the preference for real-time audio tracks
-increasing the speed of your system an/or disk drives and or/or network connection

It's happened a few times now.
Please help.
Thanks!

Sorry about the Power PC comment, your specs aren't updated with your account.

Anyway, the H.264 compressor is your problem. H.264 is not a good editing format and that is why your system is having a hard time. Take your raw quicktime files and transcode them to Apple Pro Res using Compressor. Take those new quicktimes you create into your FCP and you are ready to go.

And is there any way I can export then transcode the chunk I have already edited from my footage?
It's on my timeline and ready to be exported but every time I playback, I get the same warning message. I will transcode all remaining footage that I haven't used yet. Is there a way to do the same to the already edited pieces on my timeline? (I hope re-editing isn't an option).

Thank you so much!
