Safari error message

I sometimes get this error message. Would cleaning the cache help?

You are not connected to the Internet.

HI John,

Try maintenance...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.

If you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.

You didn't mention what kind of internet connection you are using ????

I did clear the cache and will just need to wait to see if I get the error message again and this will take time as it only randomly showed up. But if it does then I will reset safari. I dont know of a way in Safari to set the cache size. I connect to the Internet via a High Speed Cable Connection via WI-FI and there are no problems here as FF never had an issue. However I use Safari as its much faster to load than FF and does not have as many bugs. However I fear they will drop producing for Tiger in the next major release which I think would be foolish as they will still produce for XP which is 4 years older than Tiger.

64-bit mode? I did not see a way to run the app in 64-Bit mode. Tiger is 64-Bit but I believe it was the beginning of the 64-Bit change.

Rosetta? I am on a PPC Mac not a Intel Mac.

No on various sites. I got the message once again after doing a google search, but will need to report back as that error may have been my fault. Not sure if the problem has been resolved as of yet.

Bye the way I think Apple's way of reporting bugs is TONS TONS better than that of FireFox.But when I click on the send screen shot option does it really submit one? If so why are they not sent via email? I am not using Mail as my email app.
