Can I stop ALL incoming calls?

Am I missing something here? Why not just forward all calls to your voicemail number before leaving the US.

Unless you prevent your phone from registering on a roaming network, then without such forwarding already in place calls will forward to the roaming network before either ringing your iPhone or going to voicemail. Either way this will incur a charge. In the case of calls that hit the roaming network and then go to voicemail you incur a double charge: the cost of forwarding the call to the roaming network plus the cost of returning the call to your home network for voicemail.

I would recommend contacting your service provider who should be able to advise on how to divert all calls to voicemail before you travel.

To unconditionally call forward all calls to your voicemail, use the following procedure (GSM standard - works with AT&T and iPhone):

1. Dial *#67# to see which number is used to forward calls to VM.
2. Dial 21number# to forward all calls unconditionally before you leave.
3. Dial ##002# when you return to restore the default settings.

The downside of using the cell VM is that a VVM message will be sent to your phone, using expensive roaming data charges. Better to forward to a local phone with a local answering machine or local (non-cell) VM.

Sorry, no way to disable incoming calls only. If you have wifi avaialble, you could use Skype and enable Airplane Mode.

If you put the phone in airplane mode and turn wifi back on, you will be able to use wifi for email/applications without using data or receiving calls.

You could activate call forwarding to another local number before you leave.

The easiest & simplest fix is to forward all your calls to a number that is NOT ANSWERED BEFORE you leave.
