First name, last name in Contacts

First name, last name in Contacts

Finally got an iPhone. I like my contacts to be first name, then last name. If I want to call Jim I look in the 'J's.
Having changes the Contact preferences so that this is how it is I was surprised to see that if I press Phone, then Contacts the list here is still sorted by Last name.
Anybody know how I get around this?

There are *2 settings* for contact - *sort order and display order:*

Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (scroll down to Contacts) > Sort Order > First, Last

This is all clearly explained on page 153 of the User Guide

I changed the view to Last, First then back to First, Last
and now the list in the Phone, Contacts has changed too.

No more problems [for the time being]

You can change that in settings, under contacts! There is a wealth of information in the manual. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your quick answers from both ends of the States.

I'm not yet there though. I now have sort order and display order as First, Last but when I go tocall someone the list under Phone, Contacts is still sorted as Last Name.

Still can't call Jim! More help please.
