iphone 3GS speakers not working

hi,

I'm facing the same problem where my speaker is not working. Sent back to the cellular operator and confirm it is a hardware problem after they refresh the iPhone software. And now I have to wait around 2-4 weeks for a one to one replacement. FYI, I'm staying in Malaysia and my phone need to send back to Singapore for a replacement. Apple should use a better speaker as I'm using my iPhone 3GS 32Gb for less than a month and this thing happened????? Really Frustrating......

There is no right hand speaker. It's a microphone.

TQ guys....don't bother whether it on the left or right, but my concern is my iphone speaker is NOT working?????When there is a call, the phone only vibrate and no ringing!!! How Apple going to solve this stupid matter??????

I have a similar problem with my new Iphone 3GS 16GB. My speaker on my phone stopped working after I flicked the silent switch on and off. I am also fully aware of the fact that there is no speaker on the right side. I already tried the following while playing audio:
1. I made sure that the volume is on and not in silent mode.
2. I did a settings reset under "General", "Reset"
3. I switched the phone on and off.
4. I pluged in earphones, and unplugged it several times, and also made sure that the phone pause when I unplug the earphones.
5. I did a phone reset by holding down the "sleep" + "Home" buttons

Does anyone have any more sugestions for me on what do do before I return my device to the dealer and wait for an entire month for a new one?
