iweb and external hard drive

Hello!
Is it possible to create/edit/publish website using iweb on an external hard drive only?

I am between homes and want to take my hard drive with me - the idea being that i just plug it in my imac or mac laptop and work on and save changes to my website.

If yes - how please!

Thanks everyone,
dee

iWeb uses the Domain.Sites2 file to edit and create the webpages. It's located here:

~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/

Where ~ is your Home Directory.

Copy the file to your External drive to take it with you.

Everytime you want to edit your Site(s) in iWeb, double-click the domain.sites2 file on the external drive.

iWeb will remember it the next time.

If you External drive isn't connected and you open iWeb it will either ask you for the domain file or it will open the existing one in the Library folder.

So don't panic when it happen. Just remember.

Dee ~ Also see NOTE 1 here:

And this may be of interest:

By the way, your Public Profile indicates you're running Mac OS X (10.5.1) — if that's true, you should upgrade to 10.5.8 via  menu > Software Update... and then update your Public Profile.
