I used to use the Soft Vox Compressor all the time when I had Logic Express 8. Now I upgraded to Studio 9, and it's not there; does anyone know if it just has a new name - FET Vocal 1 & 2, Opto Vocal 1 & 2 and Type R Vocal 1 & 2 are what is now available for Voice - or is one of these comparable to Soft Vox Compressor?
I love the upgrade, but I don't see why they have to change the names of things that I was used to; for example, Out 1-2 is now called Stereo Out.
I'm not bothered by it being called Stereo Out, I just don't understand why it changed from Express to Studio. On the other hand, it may have changed between 8 and 9 because the Logic gods thought that was a better way to label it! In any case, thanks for the suggestion.
Thanks for the suggestion! I did it, and it now appears as "Gentle Compression" which I guess is what it's call in Studio 9. What I can't figure out though is why you would have it on a list of 13, and I don't have it on a list of 6...unless you've been saving them maybe, and 9 really only comes with those 6?
Not sure why you only have 6 and I have 13. When I got LP9 i did a clean install of snow leopard and logic, then I migrated all other programs and files from my back up drive, maybe they were carried over in the migration from LP8
also you can change the name of stereo out just by double clicking on the name and typing in a new name either in the mixer window, or inspector window
I recently got a new mac and upgraded to Logic Studio, so have recently installed both Snow Leopard and Logic Pro. I too only have 6 items listed under Dynamics > Compressor.
