The Finder does not support FTP upload. You'll have to get a dedicated FTP client app or use the Terminal ftp commands. [Here's a list of free clients|http://search.macupdate.com/search.php?keywords=ftp&os=mac&license=free ]. Cyberduck usually comes highly recommended around here, but I don't have is as I already own two others.
Hmmm, I have been looking why I could not get my OSX.6 ftp-server to to work.
So it seems to be the ftp from my Finder, now with Fetch it works fine.
I still can not believe it. This is THE most advanced OS there is?
The Finder's FTP is download only. If you need to do FTP uploads you will need a third-party FTP application. You will find several suitable applications at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
