New IPOD NANO (5th Generation) - Copying music files from IPOD to ITUNES

If you connect your iPod to your new computer, the music that you got from your old computer should show up on the new computer that your iPod is currently connected to. Manual transfer should work. I never tried the automatically syncing setting. My iTunes is set to manual syncing.

Now I would like to copy that one album from my IPOD NANO to my current ITUNES on my new IMAC Apple computer.

You can't use iTunes to transfer music from iPod to computer unless that music was purchased from the iTunes store.

Yes you can. All the albums on my iPod came from either cds or downloaded from various websites. The iPod Nano 5th generation is not restricted to just purchased iTunes store music.

You are saying that you can transfer non iTunes purchased music from your 5th gen nano to your iTunes library without the need of 3rd party software? iTunes will do this?

You say you use manual transfer for this. Can you be more specific on how you do this?

Are you saying you can drag and drop music from iPod to iTunes, something which has never been possible before?

I stand corrected. You are absolutely correct. My non purchased iTunes songs are already in my iTunes library. Never purchased from iTunes.
When I delete a song or a whole album from my iPod by using the Music side panel under Devices, I just add more from my iTunes library either to the Music side panel or My iPod. Unable to transfer songs from iPod to the regular part of iTunes.

I noticed by selecting iTunes-File-Transfer purchases from iPod you are apparently allowed to transfer? To where? Since I have no iTunes purchase the setting did not work for me.

Transferring purchases from iPod should go to your iTunes library.
