Late 2009 Mac Mini Dual Display

I have recently brought a Mac Mini and I have no problems connecting it to one display, ive read that the newer models support dual displays but im a little confused as how to solve this problem. I have two monitors that have vga connections, is it possible to use these as dual displays?

Yes, it is quite easy to connect two displays to the current Mac mini. If you click [here|http://www.apple.com/macmini/features.html] and scroll to the bottom of the page, you'll see two ports on the back of the mini marked Mini DVI port and Mini DisplayPort. Both of those are display connectors.

Your mini came with a Mini DVI to DVI adapter. In order to use two VGA monitors with the mini, you'll need a [Mini DVI to VGA adapter|http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A] and a [Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter|http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB572Z/A], available online, at any Apple Store, or many other places.

Once you have the adapters, simply plug your VGA monitors into the mini, which will recognize them and configure itself automatically.

I have several Mac Mini's.

At this time, I have the newer 2009 version hooked up to 2 monitors at the same time.

I am using the Mini-DVI to DVI adapter to connect to my Apple 23" Cinema HD display.
The other is the Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter and also using a DVI to HDMI cable connected to my Sony Bravia 40" HD TV...
Works for fine displaying both monitors at the same time to either have a secondary desktop or used in the mirror mode.

As Shawn mentions above, it should work the same way only with VGA on the monitor end of the adapters.

So it appears you would need these adapters from the Apple Store,
1. Mini DVI to VGA adapter

2. Mini DisplayPort to VGA adapter

Edit: I now see that Shawn already linked to the same adapters.

Interesting you should say that at the Apple Store today in London they told me you couldn't. Well I say couldn't they said a 2 third party monitors (i.e my 2 Acer 19inch VGA connection) but not the Apple monitors.

Is this really the case?

I believe this is because the current 24" Apple monitor needs the Display port, not DVI or VGA. So you couldn't attach the Apple monitor to the Mini DVI port. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) And I think the 30" Apple monitor needs the dual-link adapter that plugs into the Displayport. So I'm guessing that you could plug in a VGA or DVI monitor into the Mini-DVI port, while using an Apple monitor in the Display port. If that is correct, then what the rep said is technically correct, that you can't use two (current) Apple monitors, but you'd need a non-Apple monitor...at least for the second monitor.
