Need Help with Safari Crashing

Hi first time posting here and I have a problem with my Safari browser I'm running on my MacBook Pro 13 inch 10.6.2 Snow Leopard. My professor gave me a link to a trusted website (coursecompass.com) that shows a list of her lecture notes in .pdf form. When I click on the link it brings it up in the .pdf but after a few seconds my entire safari shuts down and I get the pop-up saying an unexpected problem occurred. Now I can save the notes in the application-preview but its just a real pain to save all of them when I can usually just click it. Nothing unusual with my Mac besides that, this is my first experience with safari crashing consistently.

Hopefully I'm posting in the right spot. Hope to hear from anyone with the same issue.

Thanks,
Nick

HI,

Download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader (PDF reader) here.

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

After the installation, launch Adobe Acrobat then from the Menu Bar click Adobe/Preferences.

Select "Internet" in the Categories list.

Then select the box next to: Display PDF in browser using

Click the pop up menu and select Adobe Reader.

Navigate to that site and try downloading a PDF file.

If Safari still crashes, try maintenance...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Empty Cache. When you are done with that...

From the Safari Menu Bar, click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 5 buttons and click Reset.

Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem.

If you are running Safari in 64 bit mode, try running in 32-bit mode instead. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) make sure *Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*

If Safari still crashes, download and install the 10.6.2 combo update available here.
