Media Keys & QuickTime X

Tried using the 'qtdefaults' command line application in 10.6.2 to write
sorenson video media keys to the QuickTime X player application
preferences but I'm still
just getting a black frame for the movie - the typical result of a
missing media key.

For example,
qtdefaults write MediaKeys CategoryNameText1 MediaKeyText1

Also tried the 'LegacyCodecsEnabled' command with qtdefaults to see if
that helped, but no luck there either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Jamie T -- please try the following. I believe your syntax may be wrong. See if this works:

qtdefaults write MediaKeys category key

Replace the word category with the correct case sensitive category and the work key with the correct case sensitive key. After doing this, type the following from the command line to see if the Media Keys actually are there:

qtdefaults read category

Replace the word category with the correct case sensitive category you entered above. Let me know if this works!
