motu 2408 mk3 won't connect with my mac.

I have set the audio in logic to PCI and have set the preferences on my mac to pci both audio in and out. I have the fire wire connected and the main outs to my moniters but no sound! It has been a year since I have set up my rig and probably have forgotten some stuff. The Motu unit itself is not registering the PCI on the led in the front so I think the problem is probably there. I have turned the mac on and offbut still no luck.

any ideas?
