Can't decrease quote level

I have a PowerBook G4 running OS 10.4.11 and it has NEVER allowed me to decrease the quote level of an email that I wished to clean up and send to someone else.

My iMac G4, running 10.3.9 would allow it. I just upgraded to 10.4.11 and now I can't decrease the quote level in Mail to remove those darn colored vertical lines.

Any suggestions?

Did you try removing the com.apple.Safari.plist file and restarting Safari to test it? It's entirely possible that your preferences file is corrupt.
