My mac is downloading something but don't know what it is.

iStat shows that I am downloading something but nothing is being downloaded. The reason I know this is because no hard drive space is being taken up.Also, It is using an unusual amount of bandwidth. I found out what is doing the downloading and it is an unknown IP address. Any advice as what to do. Thanks
