Ricoh Aficio 1022 issues

I'm trying to print to the above printer over the network. Have installed the PPD from Ricoh's site. After setting up the printer with the Ricoh 1022 PS driver and printing I'm just getting pages of garbled text. I can swap the driver to Generic PCL 5e Printer Gutenprint but I have no options (duplex being the main one I need).

I have tried setting it up with both LPD and Jetdirect with the same results.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

The drivers from the Ricoh site are for printers with the PostScript option installed. It would appear that your printer does not have this option installed.

Try the pxlmono driver set from _ http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/pxlmon o_. This driver should have all the options available to your specific printer. The PPDs are supplied by Ricoh. Be sure to also install Fomatic-RIP and Ghostscript.
