I've had an issue happen on a few different computers and was curious if anyone else had experienced this. I'm using the last generation macbook pro (not the unibody) with full memory. I upgraded to snow leopard and mainstage 2 and I while I'm playing I'll suddenly start having the exs sounds drop out after 2 seconds. If I restart it's fine. Does anyone have a solution? I've done all software upgrades.
Usually, expression is used to superimpose temporary volume changes. So you would use CC 7 to control the overall volume of the track but you would use CC 11 to do things like temporary crescendos --- you wouldn't be able to do that if you only had a single CC available.
Had my first 2-second-dropout lately. However, it only first affected one patch. I was forced to close mainstage - beachball of death - forced quit - restarted - all was well at least for today.
Forte is not as advanced as Mainstage so far as graphics and midi routing are concerned but it is very stable. Brainspawn (maker of Forte) has a page on their website discussing system requirements.
first post was APRIL 3RD 2008.
So, 3 years and 6 pages worth of posts later and Apple still hasn't come up with a fix? I think it's safe to say I'll never use MS2 live....
Has anybody from Apple even monitored this thread?? Would love to hear from them.
...one bad apple can spoil the whole bunch 😉 I am sure that they look into their own forum from time to time. I also assume many of us here have reported this bug to
http://www.apple.com/feedback
Anyway: Has anybody at least found a workaround for this? A guy in the Logic Express forum also has experienced this problem with Garageband, so it might be related to the general EXS sample handling.
if I had a dollar for everytime I've sent a message to apple.com/feedback I could hire my own team to find the problem and fix it for me.
I don't know what you mean by one bad apple, there's clearly an entire field of apple trees here and we are all in the same boat and have yet to even get an acknowledgement from Apple tech support.
This problem is certainly linked to the EXS sampler alone since everything else will continue to function fine, this an issue with the EXS dropping off the Streaming part of the samples, I don't know if it's losing it's link to the location of the EXS factory sample folder, but that's how it's behaving.
I would actually do that, but now I have to use a native instruments library instead of the Mainstage which I think is superior, at least the pianos are.
