There are no Mac sync solutions for the Samsung Corby currently. The phone does appear to have SyncML which is one of the requirements for syncing with iSync, but there is no suitable iSync Plugin available.

I'd suggest contacting Samsung to see if they plan on releasing an iSync Plugin (as they have with a few of their other phones), and if not contact novamedia, who support many Samsung phones:

I just purchased my Corby. Which is a great phone. You can connect this phone to Mac's bluetooth to receive and send files. iSync, however does not recognize the phone and neither does the Nova plugin software.

The Corby series of phones is going to be one of Samsung's flagship models so at some point someone has to make a plugin.

I am surprised Samsung does not make one. It's really annoying.

Please, keep this thread alive! Maybe someday we can post a link of where the plugin resides.

Also I want to point out that if you install all the X11 software and the developer software Apple's plugin maker will be installed into your Utilities folder. I have tried to make a plugin, but I don't know what information to put in. If someone out there knows what to put in the plugin maker, please install X11 and make a plugin!

To install X11 insert your Mac OS X installer and then open "optional installs". You will find the X11 package there.

Unfortunately, it's not quite that simple. The phone itself has to support the required SyncML protocols in the first place, for the Plugin Maker to even have a chance at working. Samsung don't always include SyncML in many of their phones.

Even if the phone does have SyncML it depends on the exact implementation as to whether creating a plugin is possible.

I found this on a website that shows the phone's specs....

Connectivity
Bluetooth 2.0
USB 2.0
WAP Support
USB Mass Storage Support
Internet HTML Browser Support
SyncML (DS) Support
SyncML (DM) Support
PC Sync Application Support

Which version of SyncML does iSync need? DS or DM? If the phone does support SyncML then how do we go about gathering the information to create a plugin?

Thanks for your help!

SyncML (DS) is Data Synchronization and SyncML (DM) is Device Management.

DS is the one the phone needs to work with iSync, but it needs to be SyncML over OBEX (not HTTP).

HTTP is used for syncing over the internet to a remote server. OBEX is used for local syncing.

In addition to that, different phones use different AT commands for initiating the communication sequence between computer and phone. Those you'd need to get from the phone manufacturer.

This will save my day! \o\ |o| /o/

However, it's not smart as iSinc. Isn't easy connect and sync, and isn't free, and isn't cheap either in my opinion (19,90 euros).

I beleive there is nothing missing in the Corby, it's not about technology but corporate policy. Corby was made to be working with Microsoft stuff, not Apple. And we got to do what they told ya - or not...

A very long time ago (classic age) I've got the same problem with a Motorolla. With my last Sony Ericsson, sync contacts were a soup. Samsung Corby is good, but my next cel phone will be a Sony Ericsson again...
