Copy a worksheet from one Excel file to another Excel file?

Copy a worksheet from one Excel file to another Excel file?

Can anyone give me some pointers as to how to copy an entire worksheet from one Excel file into a new worksheet within another Excel file please, when both files are already open?

I've tried variations of "copy worksheet" and "copy range" but I'm just not getting anywhere.

15" MacBook Pro (Late 2008) + Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio), Mac OS X (10.5.8)

Hi Melissa

This will copy the active work sheet of your open work book.

tell application "Microsoft Excel"
activate
copy worksheet active sheet
end tell

or if you want to specifically target a work sheet, say sheet2 you could use the below.

tell application "Microsoft Excel"
activate
copy worksheet sheet "sheet2"
end tell

Solution I used was:

set sourceSheet to sheet thisName of workbook thisName
tell workbook newWorkbook
set lastSheet to sheet (count of sheets)
end tell
copy worksheet sourceSheet after lastSheet

(Variables thisName & newWorkbook set elsewhere in the script.)
