Screen Sharing/Viewing

I'm looking for a way to allow a group of 10 people to view my screen on their computers while I do a demonstration on my computer. I don't want them to be able to access my computer. How could this be done? Thanks.

Mebeam

Enter a Room Name (you make it up)
Tell People that page's URL

Something Like CamCamX that can use the Desktop as the Video feed.

Not sure CamCamX works in Snow Leopard hence the "Like" in there.

Also look at EZ Jim's work here http://www.ralphjohns.co.uk/EZJim/EZJimpage7.html

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

Hi,

Not directly.

My thinking started with Showmacster.
This is an iChat Add-on that can do a Part or Whole Screen as Video Feed.
I use it in Leopard and iChat 4 and the Site says nothing about Snow Leopard.
It has greater control over some things than iChat Theatre does.
This would limit you also to 4 Buddies in a Video chat.

An alternative for instance; if you click on your Own Video icon in iChat you get a Preview pic of yourself.
This pic can be dragged to effectively full screen.
The iChat Add-On iUSBCam also has an Option for displaying the Desktop.
Unfortunately this is not supported in Snow Leopard.

So No, not exactly Screen Sharing but would allow you to Demonstrate something to several people at once.

The next step would be to use a Web Site that would allow several other people to join a Video chat at the same time with you using something that can display the Desktop (or what is on it) as Video feed.
It was at this point that I posted.

It was here that I thought of CamCamX but then as I was posting I thought about whether it is Snow Leopard compatible.

From the List.
EvoCam would let you push a Video Feed to a Web Site in a live manner.
You would have to have a Web site and a fairly good Upload bandwidth to have it reasonably smooth.
You would also need an App/Utility that could grab and display the Desktop as Video Feed, hance suggesting the list.

Quicktime Broadcaster allows you to set up your Mac as a Sort of Server for Video Broadcasting.
Again the issue of grabbing the Desktop would be the issue.

I Googled but most stuff seems to be pre Snow Leopard.

The main thrust of my post was to look at it differently.
How can you "Broadcast your Desktop" ? in a way that keep your data safe.

I hope this is clearer.

Based on what I have said so far you may want to look at this list http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/

Try VNC. Your viewers can use the VNC client. I believe the Mac OS screen sharing setting will allow a VNC client to view your screen. On the server (your) end, you can disable the mouse and keyboard controls. I've only done this within my home network (my iPod touch using the MochaVNC client and with an XP laptop, but not simultaneously). If there are firewall issues (just covering myself), another user may need to advise you there. Be warned that there is a delay, so videos/animations will be "stunted".

The answer is one connection with the free version of Teamviewer. From their knowledge base:

Info: Number of clients that can be supported simultaneously
SUMMARY
You can connect simultaneously up to 1 partner in the free version, up to 3 partners in the Business license and up to 10 partners in the Premium license. The total number of partners is not limited. The clients don't need a license to receive your support.
Please notice, that you will need additional channels if you would like to connect to multiple partners at the same time from different computers. You can purchase additional channels flexibly in our online shop if you should have the need. Simultaneous connections from one workstation to different other machines are possible without additional channels.
