How to rename my iPod Touch

I named my iPod as "Name1" and I want to change its name as "Name2". After I rename my iPod in iTunes, the name appears on iTunes is "Name2". But the name appears on my iPod still "Name1". I unplug my iPod from PC and re-plug, the name appears on iTunes remains "Name 1".

iPod Touch 32GB, model MC008LL, Windows XP, version 3.1.2,

I think I find where the problem comes from. I clicked right botton of my mouse and select rename. That is not the way to rename iPod.
