Converting a TIFF file to 1 bit on the Mac

All,

I'm not a technically gifted and have googled this sufficiently with no help at all.

Can anyone please let me know how to convert a TIFF file into 1 bit format i.e. Blak & White on the Mac.

I can only find options for RGB, etc

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Hello newstarter

Welcome to the AppleWorks Forum. This section of the Discussions web site is about an office program called AppleWorks and is read by AppleWorks users, so we're unlikely to be able to help you.

You could try the Printing, faxing and scanning forum for Mac OS X 10.6.

You might also try the shareware program called Graphic Converter. It may convert TIFF files to 1 bit.

Welcome to Discussions.

More information on what you're trying to do and how would help you get better answers.

Any imgage processing application like GraphicConverter or Elements will let you do this, or a quick and dirty approach would be to use Preview and in it go Tools > Image Correction to reduce saturation to zero.

Note that if working with images in AppleWorks you will do better to use PICT rather than TIFF format.
