logitech drivers are well known to be quite crappy. you can try uninstalling the logitech software and using 3rd party mouse drivers like USB overdrive or Steermouse. can't promise they will work much better but give it a shot.

My Logitech mouse just developed the same problem. Odd. I've Snow Leopard as well, and wasn't using the Logitech software, so I thought I'd download it and see if it corrected the problem. It has no effect. What appears to be happening is that the commands that I give the mouse are somehow delayed, then malfunction, mostly when I use Safari, and to a lesser extent, when I use the Finder. When I use the touchpad and the keyboard "button", I don't have the problem. So it looks as if there's a corruption in the way that the third party mouse interacts with the OS. I've used the same wireless mouse on this MacBook for perhaps two years, and this problem has only emerged in the past two or three weeks.

I've tried tossing mouse prefs and reinstalled Snow Leopard with no luck. Resetting PRAM has a temporary effect. I'll try resetting the PMU or SCM or whatever it's called later, as I've done before, and if I have good luck, I'll report back to this thread.

It's weird because I've had Snow Leopard since it was issued, and the problem emerged just after the first of the year, with no other background software installed in or around that time.

I think I found the problem. I moved the mouse to my iMac, and the thing is messed up on that machine as well. Conclusion: the mouse went blooey. I'll have to get another one. Looking for a good brand now. An Apple Mouse is a possibility. I'd like a bluetooth device. Any ideas?

I just experienced the exact same problem with my Logitech LX7 mouse. It went from being fine one night, to the next day the OS not responding to any roll over activity (unhiding the Dock, Dock magnification, menu roll-over, etc.) No updates were made between it working and not working.

However, Logitech has released a new driver that supposedly adds Snow Leopard support. I downloaded the new software, restarted, and the mouse has returned to normal. So hopefully the software update solves the problem.

I had the same problem with the mouse not responding to roll over activity (unhiding the Dock, Dock magnification, menu roll-over, etc.) I got scared, ran repair disc permissions, restarted and nothing worked still. I was afraid it was a problem with the OS. Then I unplugged the mouse and re plugged it in and it worked. 🙂 YAY!!!!
